Solutions For Chronic Fatigue
Like many other feelings in life, fatigue is common, expected, and not particularly problematic.
If you’re entering your 18th hour of driving on a road trip, eating nothing but peanuts and the junk food you find in gas stations along the way, you can expect to feel exhausted.
This is the type of fatigue tied directly to a certain cause.
But if you’re feeling tired on a consistent basis, or without a clear reason why, you may be suffering from chronic fatigue.
However, there are naturopathic treatments available which may help you.
If you’ve never experienced naturopathic medicine before, you might not know what to expect. That’s okay – there’s a first time for everything, after all.
That’s what this page is for. Keep reading to find out more about what working with Dr. Simona can look like.
How To Prepare For A Naturopathic Appointment
Before you come to visit Dr. Simona, take some time to consider some of the health issues and concerns you’ve been facing recently. These can be minor annoyances like, for example, feeling a little dizzy when you stand up after long periods of sitting, or significant issues like chronic pain or an illness you’ve been diagnosed with.
Having a list of the health concerns you have will help Dr. Simona put together a treatment plan that fits your unique needs.
You should also print and fill out a patient intake form prior to arriving – this will make the process quicker. If you don’t have access to a printer, no problem, but please show up at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment to fill one out here.
If you have any recent lab tissue analysis or imaging (MRI, CT, ultrasound) tests completed, please ask your doctor to forward them to us as well
What To Expect At Your First Visit
Your first appointment with Dr. Simona is usually the longest. That’s because it takes time to fully explore your health history.
This appointment can take 60-90 minutes, during which Dr. Simona will ask you a number of different questions about your health, taking detailed notes on your current and past health concerns.
She will also perform a physical examination and suggest some laboratory tests be performed to help assess your current state of health and diagnose any illnesses you may be dealing with.
From there, you’ll discuss the next steps to address your health concerns, which may include dietary and lifestyle changes, follow-up appointments with other naturopathic treatments, and additional functional medicine testing.
During this whole process, Dr. Simona will be patient, kind, understanding, and respectful of your needs and limitations. The goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible with the process and with naturopathic medicine.

What Is Chronic Fatigue?
If you’re suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, you’re more than just tired. You’re in a consistent state of exhaustion which can’t be dealt with through the normal means of regaining energy – eating nutritious foods or getting a good night’s sleep.
You might feel more exhausted after exerting yourself, but your general feeling of exhaustion won’t have a specific cause.
If you have one or more of the following symptoms on a consistent or long-term basis, you may be suffering from chronic fatigue.
- Fatigue or exhaustion
- Difficulty remembering or concentrating
- Difficulty sleeping
- Waking up tired
- A sore throat
- Chronic pain, especially in your muscles or joints
- Sensitivity to any amount of physical exertion
- Headaches
Chronic fatigue is also often linked with fibromyalgia.
Functional Diagnostic Medicine Approach To Chronic Fatigue
Through a framework of functional diagnostic medicine, Dr. Simona offers naturopathic treatments for chronic fatigue.
Chronic fatigue is a complicated disorder with a number of different causes, which is why mainstream medicine sometimes has a difficult time diagnosing it. Some of these triggers may include food sensitivities, thyroid or gut issues, a poor-quality diet, or dysbiosis. However, the approach of functional diagnostic medicine may prove effective.
Functional diagnostic medicine focuses less on treating disease, and more on treating the individual. This means Dr. Simona will focus on finding the imbalances and disruptions in your body which may lead to a state of chronic fatigue in the first place.
This works through the simple principles of adding anything your body is lacking and removing anything that is impeding your body.
Your body wants to exist in a state of optimal health and consistently works toward that. By providing your body with what it needs and removing its road blocks, we can work toward treating your chronic fatigue.
Naturopathic treatment for chronic fatigue may include one or more of the following:
- Nutritional supplements
- Homeopathic and other herbal remedies
- Nutritional counselling
- Lifestyle counselling
- Intravenous infusion therapy
- Bioidentical hormone therapy
- Education on how to improve your habits
